Permanent Jewellery Launch

Permanent Jewellery Launch

After several months of many trials, we are excited to announce the opening of our permanent jewellery studio located in the heart of South Melbourne, a short distance from Southbank and Crown Hotels. If you prefer to take PTV, we are a short walk from a route 109 tram stop (more details about our accessibility in our FAQs).

Our chains have been carefully selected based on tests of durability and wearability and we are confident that our bracelets will last. We encourage our customers to look at our different chain options available prior to their appointment. You can choose from both sterling silver and 14k gold filled chains, in a range of different styles. BTW, ‘Figaro’ is currently our most popular.

What is the difference between solid gold and gold filled?

Solid gold is used in high-end jewellery for its aesthetic, durability and shine. Gold filled is a more affordable way to use gold in cohesion with a base metal, making it more affordable and accessible for many.

We do recognise that solid gold jewellery is more durable than gold filled, however, it is significantly priced at a higher price point. Gold-filled jewellery still provides amazing quality pieces, and we are confident that our chains are more than suitable for this service.

What is Permanent Jewellery?

Permanent Jewellery is taking the jewellery market by storm, and we are proud to be leaders in the field, being one of the only jewellery businesses offering soldered bracelets as a service in Melbourne. Permanent bracelets are bracelets that are soldered directly onto your wrist, in the absence of a clasp that allows the bracelet to be removed. The whole process is 100% safe and we undergo the correct precautions to ensure that there is no possibility of any skin injury.

Not only do our bracelets look good 24/7 without having to remember to put them on, but the reason they are so popular is also the experience that comes with getting your bracelet. Buying your best friend, parent or boyfriend an appointment to get matching permanent bracelets is the perfect gift with quality time and sentiment included in the price.

Upon posting the release of our permanent jewellery service, we had an influx of questions from our followers revolving around the process. The most frequently asked question is will our jewellery rust or tarnish? Our chains are designed to be high quality and our team has been wearing our chains for 2 years now - yet to see signs of tarnish.

We also get asked about what happens to your bracelet in a medical emergency such as an MRI/X-ray. You are not required to remove your bracelet in the instance of an X-ray. If you are in a situation where you have to have an MRI and must remove the jewellery, please contact us with sufficient evidence and we are likely to organise a free resolder.

The other most asked question is what happens to our jewellery when going through airport security. We can guarantee that our bracelets do not need to be removed when going through an airport and do not get flagged by metal detectors.

How do I make a booking?

You can secure your position by booking through our website. The $40 fee is just a deposit and will be taken off the price of the bracelet when at your appointment. While we are still starting out, we are releasing appointment times for dates 3 weeks in advance. If you are interested in booking the service with a family member, friend or partner, booking one appointment will suffice and you only need to pay the deposit once.

After making your booking you should receive an email/text from us with relevant details on your upcoming appointment. If it is still the day of and you haven’t heard anything please contact us!

We would like to thank our customers for the overwhelming support we have received on our launch. We couldn’t do it without you guys! If you still have questions that haven’t been answered, feel free to email us at admin@aglaeajewellery.com or dm us on Instagram @aglaeajewellery.
